What's your favorite natural environment? Why?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 29, 2007:
A tropical climate is wonderful. Lush green plants, clear blue skies, and waves pounding the shore. But that's not my favorite.
I've often fantasized about having a cabin in the woods. I'm surrounded by trees, with a little brook nearby. Birds wake me in the morning and crickets sing me to sleep at night.
Every day is an adventure as I discover new paths into the forest. I take long walks. Sometimes I sit on my front porch and write. The air is peaceful. Words pour onto the page.
This would be my ideal.
